On Tuesday, the On300 updated for the class of 2027, and several South Carolina football targets saw their standing within the recruiting industry boosted. One of the biggest risers among Gamecock recruits (and all recruits nationally) is Irmo High School product Jaiden Bryant.

When the new rankings dropped, Bryant had risen all the way to No. 49 nationally. He’s also No. 2 in South Carolina and No. 6 among EDGE prospects. Since April, Bryant has moved up 162 spots from No. 211 overall. The move up comes as little surprise to those who watched him rack up 18.5 sacks and 26 tackles for loss last fall.

Bryant, a rising junior, is listed at 6-4 and 245 pounds. However, he looks even bigger than that, both in person and on film. According to one source, though, Bryant’s size shouldn’t be a concern. The source told GamecockCentral recently that Bryant probably does weigh more than his listed size but that he “easily” could continue playing EDGE even if he adds more weight. His impressive frame and athletic explosion make that very believable.

South Carolina is a major factor in the local product’s recruitment, but other teams are in the mix. Recent offers from LSU and Florida made an impression, and other schools like Penn State, Missouri, Florida State, Virginia Tech, Michigan State, North Carolina, and NC State have offered, too.

During a fall conversation with GamecockCentral, Bryant sang the praises of the South Carolina program and head coach Shane Beamer. The talented pass rusher said it would be “an honor” to play for Beamer with the Gamecocks. He also said that he tries to model his game after USC sophomore Dylan Stewart.
