South Carolina senior earns another All-American honor
South Carolina football fans will look back at Kyle Kennard’s 2024 campaign and remember it as one of the best defensive efforts in program history. Despite several players having an extra game or two on their ledger, the transfer portal addition led the SEC in sacks (11.5) and tackles for loss (16) in 12 games this fall. Kennard earned the Bronko Nagurski Trophy as the nation’s top defender. He also was a consensus All-American thanks to his inclusion on All-American teams from Walter Camp (1st team), Football Writers Association of America (1st team), American Football Coaches Association (1st team), Associated Press (2nd team), and the Sporting News (2nd team).
Now, another deserved distinction has come his way.
On Wednesday morning, ESPN announced their All-American team, and Kennard made the 2nd team.
