On Tuesday, ESPN College Football Live analysts Greg McElroy and Jordan Rodgers, two former starting quarterbacks in the SEC at Alabama and Vanderbilt, respectively, ranked their top signal-callers in the Southeastern Conference. Both men ranked South Carolina star LaNorris Sellers No. 3 in the league.

According to McElroy, Oklahoma’s John Mateer and LSU’s Garrett Nussmeier are ahead of Sellers in the SEC hierarchy. Rodgers has Nussmeier and Florida QB DJ Lagway in his two top spots. You can see both analysts’ top five lists below.

This offseason, Sellers has been a popular pick as one of the top quarterbacks in both the SEC and the country as a whole. He has made most of the preseason All-SEC teams and garnered a few preseason All-American predictions. Several betting outlets include No. 16 among the nation’s top 10 Heisman Trophy candidates.

Last season, Sellers became the first quarterback in South Carolina’s history to earn All-SEC recognition from the league’s coaches. Sellers made the third team, and the two players ahead of him (Ole Miss’ Jaxson Dart on the first team and Texas’ Quinn Ewers on the second team) are now in the NFL.
