South Carolina names team MVPs, other awards for regular season

The University of South Carolina football team held its annual Senior Banquet on Sunday night and handed out a number of awards.

COACHES AWARDS:
Outstanding Student Athlete: Alex Herrera and Torricelli Simpkins III
Community Service: Tonka Hemingway and Vershon Lee
Strength and Conditioning: Demetrius Knight Jr., Aaron Morton and Debo Williams
Overcoming Adversity: Raheim Sanders and Josh Simon
Offensive Scout Team Award: Emazon Littlejohn and Mac Walters
Defensive Scout Team Award: Rondarius Porter
Special Teams Scout Team Award: Aaron Morton and Larry Scott
Nutrition Award: Demetrius Knight Jr. and Raheim Sanders

The No. 15 Gamecocks (9-3, 5-3) will face No. 20 Illinois (9-3, 6-3 Big Ten) in the 79th edition of the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl. The game will kick off at 3 pm ET on Tuesday, Dec. 31, from Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Fla. and will be televised nationally on ABC.
