South Carolina football products improving NFL Draft stock with strong showings at East-West Shrine Bowl

South Carolina football has been well-represented so far at East-West Shrine Bowl practice. Running back Rocket Sanders, tight end Josh Simon, defensive lineman Tonka Hemingway, defensive back O’Donnell Fortune, and punter Kai Kroeger all are in Arlington, Texas to take part in the all-star showcase.
According to word from those in attendance, several Gamecocks have improved their NFL Draft stock over the past several days.

Shane Hallam of DraftSharks likes what he has seen from Rocket Sanders. He’s not alone in thinking highly of the USC running back as Sanders has impressed, especially with his burst. He showed off his speed and also his ability to make defenders miss on this long touchdown run in the video below.
Buffed In Prime analyst T-Cal listed three South Carolina products on his list of standouts, including tight end Josh Simon. The Gamecocks’ all-time record-holder for single-season tight end touchdowns has shown off his athleticism at Shrine Bowl practice.

USAToday writer Josh Carney is among the names impressed by Tonka Hemingway so far. He said the former Gamecock has looked good in defensive line drills, comparing his movement ability to EDGE players. Others also have complimented 1-on-1s, including the dominant rep below.
Punter Kai Kroeger caught the eye of the Carolina Panthers and then worked out for the team, per a report from Charlotte Observer reporter Mike Kaye. Cornerback O’Donnell Fortune is another NFL Draft hopeful who The Athletic NFL Draft analyst Dane Brugler said he’s “eager to see” this week. Linebacker Bam Martin-Scott also was a late addition to the game.

This year’s East-West Shrine Bowl—the 100th edition—will take place this Thursday, January 30th. NFL Network will broadcast the Shrine Bowl, starting at 8:00 p.m.
