Palmetto State receiver returning home to play for Gamecocks
Former Dillon (S.C.) standout and Louisville transfer portal wide receiver Ahmari Huggins-Bruce is coming home to complete his career.
Huggins-Bruce committed to South Carolina today, making official what had been expected since shortly after he hit the portal.
The 5-foot-11, 170-pounder has one year of eligibility left and joins the Gamecocks after taking a visit during the middle of this week. He was recruited to Columbia by receivers coach Justin Stepp.

The Palmetto State native also held known offers from Southern Cal, Maryland, UCF, Tulane, Minnesota, and Colorado State.
In three seasons at Louisville, Huggins-Bruce collected 80 catches for 1,121 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Huggins-Bruce is the second receiver to commit to South Carolina out of the portal, joining former Coastal Carolina standout Jared Brown.

2023: Played in all 13 games … closed the season with 19 receptions for 3-5 yards and four touchdowns … averaged 16.1 yards per reception… caught three passes for 18 yards in the season-opening win over Georgia Tech … scored on a 6-yard rush in the win over Murray State … also caught two passes for 17 yards … grabbed three passes for 28 yards against Indiana … scored on touchdowns of 45 and 55 yards, while catching three passes for 110 yards in 56-28 win over Boston College … caught two passes for 18 yards against NC State … Recorded one catch for 52 yards and a touchdown in the win versus Virginia … Hauled in two catches for 24 yards and one touchdown against Kentucky.
