On Wednesday, South Carolina football extended an offer to class of 2027 wide receiver Cam Wade. According to the Rivals database, the offer marks the Gamecocks’ 13th to a receiver in the ’27 cycle. Wade announced the news on social media on Wednesday evening.

Formerly of East Nashville Magnet School, Wade will play his junior season at Paducah Tilghman High School in Kentucky. Following his transfer, Wade is the new No. 3 player in the state of Kentucky in the Rivals Industry Rankings. He’s also the No. 26-ranked receiver nationally and No. 208 player overall, regardless of position. That is good for a four-star rating.

Wade has seen his recruitment take off in a big way in recent months. He now boasts over 20 scholarship offers, and the majority of those have come since the calendar flipped to 2025.

Listed at 5-11 and 165 pounds, Wade isn’t the biggest receiver. However, he has the speed to make up for it. He is a Junior Olympic All-American in track and field, and that translates to the gridiron. Wade has enough straight-line speed to blow by most defensive backs, but he also possesses above-average wiggle and impressive start-and-stop acceleration and deceleration ability.

Wade has experience impacting games at wide receiver, running back, and special teams. Last year at East Nashville, he logged over 600 yards receiving and over 600 yards rushing, while scoring multiple touchdowns each rushing, receiving, and in the return game.

Schools like Indiana, Louisville, Tennessee, LSU, Vanderbilt, Ole Miss, and Wisconsin have been names to watch so far in Wade’s recruitment. South Carolina wide receivers coach Mike Furrey will look to get the Gamecocks involved.
