South Carolina lands four-star wide receiver
South Carolina football landed its first pledge of its big official visit recruiting weekend Sunday afternoon when Fort Myers (Fla.) Lehigh class of 2023 four-star ATH Kelton Henderson committed to the Gamecocks.
“I committed today,” Henderson told GamecockCentral.com. “It felt like home. I could see myself playing there for four years. It’s a good environment.”
Listed as an “athlete,” the 6-foot, 180-pound Henderson is slated to play wide receiver for Justin Stepp and the Gamecocks.
The official visit to South Carolina went extremely well this weekend, which prompted Henderson to go ahead and officially jump into the Gamecocks’ 2023 class.
Said Henderson: “I got to hang out with the team, meet the players. I hung out with Coach Stepp, Coach Beamer, AB (Ahmarean Brown), and a lot more. I got to see the facility. All the food, it was so much food. Coach Stepp is a wise man, I think he knows some things he can teach me.”

“A whole different dog,” Henderson answered when asked what he will bring to the program. “A leader.”

The Sunshine State product indicated to GamecockCentral.com that he may graduate high school in December and enroll early at South Carolina, but that his plans are not set just yet.
