Ahead of decision, priority South Carolina target to visit Gamecocks

South Carolina football recruiting target Gordon Sellars is a big-time player in the class of 2026. A priority for the Gamecocks at wide receiver, the Charlotte native recently revealed a plan to announce his college decision on April 18th. Sellars had been planning to be in town for the Garnet and Black Spring Game on that same date but doesn’t expect to make that trip.
However, South Carolina will still get one last swing in their courtship of the 6-3 playmaker.

The Providence Day School product will be on campus this weekend for an unofficial visit. He has taken recent trips to Clemson, Ohio State, and Michigan. Georgia and North Carolina A&T were also in his recent top 6 schools list. North Carolina was on a previous top 5 list, too.
Sellars has had a tightly contested recruitment. The two Palmetto State schools have seemed to have the edge at various times, and both Ohio State and Michigan seem to have gotten more involved in recent months. Georgia was a major player in the recruitment at one point, as well.

With Sellars announcing his commitment next week, his official visit list could change. He has scheduled trips to Clemson (May 30th), South Carolina (June 6th), Georgia (June 13th), and Michigan (June 20th). It remains unclear whether or not he will take all of those visits following his commitment.
The On3 industry rankings–a weighted composite of the rankings from On3, 247Sports, ESPN, and Rivals–consider the 4-star wideout to be the No. 219 overall prospect in the 2026 cycle. He’s also No. 35 among all receivers and No. 13 in a talent-laden North Carolina class.
