Decision day has arrived for one of South Carolina’s top 2024 football targets.

Windsor (Ct.) The Loomis Chaffee four-star quarterback Dante Reno will announce his college choice today at 7 p.m. on the CBS Sports HQ streaming platform.

Reno, who is being recruited by offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Marcus Satterfield, holds offers from Virginia, Kentucky, Ole Miss, N.C. State, Wisconsin, Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt, Purdue, Iowa, West Virginia, and Louisville, among others.

The 6-foot-1, 215-pounder lists his finalists as South Carolina, Kentucky, N.C. State, Purdue, Virginia and Wake Forest.

The On3 Consensus – a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies – ranks Reno as the No. 17 QB, No. 229 overall prospect and No. 2 state of Connecticut prospect in the 2024 class.

Reno was last in Columbia last weekend for the Carolina Cookout event, his fourth visit to South Carolina.

Reno spent three days in Columbia during the second week of June, camping with the Gamecocks to throw with Satterfield, while using the other time to bond with other South Carolina football targets. He first visited South Carolina in March and then returned to the school in April.

Reno hasn’t hidden his love for South Carolina on social media and has already been seemingly recruiting others to join him in Columbia.

The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine or RPM gives South Carolina a 98.4 percent chance of landing the talented signal-caller.

The On3 RPM creates odds for each recruit’s commitment. It factors in machine learning, expert predictions, social sentiment, visits, and historical trends, with expert predictions a significant part of the equation.

If Reno commits to South Carolina it will be the Gamecocks’ first pledge for the class of 2024.
