South Carolina to host big-time offensive lineman this weekend

South Carolina football is putting together a nice list of visitors for this weekend (some are already on campus), building off of a week of spring practice that saw some intriguing prospects on campus. One of the biggest (literally) recruits set to be in town this weekend is offensive lineman Kelsey Adams.
Adams, a player ranked No. 52 nationally in the On3 industry ranking–a weighted composite of the rankings from On3, 247Sports, ESPN, and Rivals–and No. 5 among all offensive tackles in the class of 2027, ranks 11th in America in 247Sports’ overall player rankings.
Adams has been to Columbia previously. This weekend, the big fella will make the drive east on I-20 from Atlanta once again.

Adams’ film makes it easy to get why he’s a potential 5-star prospect. At his size as a high school sophomore, Adams is an above-average athlete, too. He moves well and has the type of lower-body strength and arm length coaches dream of when they are looking for offensive tackles. Listed at 6-5 and 260 pounds, Adams looks even bigger on film. On his social media pages, he says he is 6-6, 280. That looks closer to reality as he looks pretty similar to Gamecock left tackle Josiah Thompson in pads.

Adams works hard in the run game and has good feet that should translate to good pass blocking technique at the next level. When he pulls or works to the second level, he moves almost as fluidly as some skill position players.
As things stand, South Carolina leads in Adams’ recruitment per the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. The Nebraska Cornhuskers also are a major contender. With a growing offer list, though, the next two years could see a lot of shifts in Adams’ recruitment.
