South Carolina offers big-time local receiver prospect
On Tuesday, the South Carolina football coaching staff dispensed an offer to a big-time local talent. As the recruiting contact period re-opened, Ridge View High School product Khristian Jackson announced on social media that Gamecock wide receivers coach Mike Furrey presented him with his first SEC offer.
Jackson’s offer is significant because of his age. As a class of 2027 player, he still has two more full years of high school remaining. Offering an in-state prospect this early indicates the Gamecock staff sees something in the talented pass-catcher.

At Ridge View, Jackson played alongside incoming USC freshman Jordon Gidron. Gidron, though, was hampered a bit by a knee injury, opening up a bigger opportunity for his young teammate. Jackson took advantage of his chance. On the season, he put up over 1000 all-purpose yards and 12 touchdowns. He’s a good kick returner, too, showcasing above-average balance and vision as a ball carrier.
On film, the 6’0″ athlete stands out as an advanced route-runner. He has enough speed to get behind the defense and enough quickness to shake free on underneath routes. With some physical improvement through more time in the weight room, Jackson could develop into a really good player at the next level.

Recently, Jackson earned the wide receiver MVP at the PrepRedzoneSC Stock Up Showcase.
Jackson also plays some defensive back for his Blazers team. However, his future seems to be at wide receiver.

Jackson also holds Power-4 offers from Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech, but that list will grow.
South Carolina currently has seven young receivers set to be scholarship freshmen or sophomores on the 2025 roster. Those players will be veterans when the class of 2027 arrives on campus.
