South Carolina football quarterback target named Elite 11 finalist

South Carolina football is still very much in the mix for class of 2026 quarterback Landon Duckworth. The talented Alabama native committed to the Gamecocks in August of 2023 but backed off of that pledge last summer. USC is one of five finalists alongside Ole Miss, Auburn, Florida State, and North Carolina. Specifically, South Carolina and Ole Miss appear to be leading the way for his services.
On Monday, the athletic gunslinger added an impressive distinction to the long list of honors he’s accumulated during his high school career. Elite 11, one of the most prestigious quarterback camps and showcases in the country, announced Duckworth as a finalist.
As an Elite 11 finalist, Duckworth will get the chance to compete against some of the very best quarterback prospects in the country. Participants will go through drills and training exercises alongside former NFL and college quarterbacks, coaches, and scouts.

As a player, Duckworth brings a lot to the table. As an impressive athlete, he is a big-time running threat, but he has enough arm talent to have garnered the attention of Elite 11. That’s a winning combination. He fits a similar profile as current South Carolina quarterback LaNorris Sellers. He isn’t as big and strong as Sellers (few quarterbacks are), but the rest of the profile is similar. Also like Sellers, Duckworth led his Jackson High squad to a state title this past season.

The Navy All-American has four official visits planned so far. Auburn (May 30th), South Carolina (June 6th), Florida State (June 13th), and Ole Miss (June 20th) will have him on campus four weekends in a row this summer. Of those teams, just the Rebels already have a quarterback committed in the 2026 class. Earlier this cycle, when USC had two signal-callers on the official visit list, the Gamecocks prioritized Duckworth, showcasing the program’s continued heavy interest.
On3’s industry ranking views Duckworth as the No. 72 overall player in the ’26 cycle. He’s also No. 7 among all quarterbacks and No. 4 in the state of Alabama.
