Late Tuesday night, South Carolina target (and former commitment) Landon Duckworth revealed to On3’s Hayes Fawcett that he has locked in an official visit to Columbia. One of four official visits on his current radar, Duckworth will be on campus June 6-8. He also will take trips to Georgia (May 30-June 1), Florida State (June 13-15), and Ole Miss (June 20-22).

Duckworth committed to the Gamecocks back in August of 2023. At the time, he was the first player pledged in the class. He backed off of his commitment last summer but said that South Carolina was not out of the running for his services. Based on his official visit schedule and the intel GamecockCentral has been hearing for months, that has been the case.

Duckworth, an Alabama native, has taken several unofficial trips to Ole Miss in recent months, and the Rebels hold some momentum. North Carolina doesn’t have an official visit schedule yet, but they also are in the hunt.

South Carolina, though, has the longest-standing relationship with Duckworth. That relationship has remained through his decommitment and through former offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Dowell Loggains leaving to become the head coach at Appalachian State. The Gamecocks have prioritized Duckworth, and new OC/QB coach Mike Shula has visited him on multiple occasions.

On3’s industry ranking views Duckworth as the No. 53 overall prospect in the class of 2026. He’s also 6th nationally among quarterbacks and No. 4 in the state of Alabama.

A dynamic dual-threat quarterback, Duckworth logged over 4000 yards during his junior season at Jackson High School. He also helped lead his team to a state championship on the basketball court.
