South Carolina football recruiting profiles: Kyler Farrow
South Carolina football coach Shane Beamer and his coaching staff have less than a week before National Signing Day. (Remember when recruits signed in February?) The Early Signing Period begins Wednesday, December 4th, and the majority of teams’ high school recruiting classes will be completed by the time the Early Signing Period ends on Friday, December 6th. In the weeks leading up to NSD, GamecockCentral will profile each player in the 2025 recruiting class. Today, we will look at long snapper Kyler Farrow.

Kyler Farrow is a long snapper who picked up a scholarship offer out of high school. That fact alone is about all one needs to know. Snappers, even less frequently than kickers and punters, do not often get scholarships until they’ve proven themselves at the college level. Farrow’s offer indicates exactly how good the South Carolina football staff thinks he is at his craft.
Farrow delivers the pigskin quickly and accurately. On film, almost all of his snaps hit the punter between his belt and his chest plate.
During one of Kohl’s Kicking’s biggest specialist showcases, Farrow posted a long snap average of 0.67 seconds. For those less acquainted with the art of snapping, that’s very fast. In fact, Farrow’s times were the fifth-fastest in the country this year. For reference, that time reflects a similar one to senior Gamecock long snapper Hunter Rogers when he was a senior at Spring Valley High School.

Farrow is a good athlete, too. As a high school tight end, he is 6’3″ and 220 pounds. With that physical profile, he should have no problem being helpful on the punt coverage unit after snapping. Farrow’s experience as a tight end also could come into play for a South Carolina special teams group that likes to run fakes and has sent the long snapper out for passes on multiple occasions over the past few seasons.
The Gamecocks are losing Hunter Rogers this year, and the multi-time All-SEC performer will be missed. However, USC will have some options to fill his spot. Cole Rasmussen has been with the team for several years as Rogers’ understudy, and, if the senior returns for another season, he will provide Farrow with some competition for next fall.
