South Carolina football coach Shane Beamer and his coaching staff have just about a month before National Signing Day. (Remember when recruits signed in February?) The Early Signing Period begins Wednesday, December 4th, and the majority of teams’ high school recruiting classes will be completed by the time the Early Signing Period ends on Friday, December 6th. In the weeks leading up to NSD, GamecockCentral will profile each player in the 2025 recruiting class. Today, we will look at in-state offensive lineman Shed Sarratt.

What the rankings say: 4-star in On3 industry rankings, No. 364 nationally, No. 8 in South Carolina, No. 30 among all interior offensive linemen; two of four major recruiting services rate Shed Sarratt as a 4-star prospect

Big Shedrick Sarratt committed to the South Carolina football program this summer. The Gaffney High School standout has everything one can look for in an offensive lineman. He’s big, he’s strong, he’s athletic, and he plays with a mean streak. Ranked as a 4-star prospect, Sarratt is the type of player who could develop into a big-time SEC offensive lineman.

Sarratt is rated as an interior offensive lineman by On3 but as a tackle by the rest of the industry. He’s gotten most of his high school reps out wide, as well. However, he has the type of body and skillset that could fit anywhere on an offensive front.

Like most high school offensive linemen, Sarratt has some technique development to do when he gets to college. However, he has some baseline ability that makes him very intriguing. In pass protection, he takes a great first step; he gets out of his stance quickly and gets into the pass rusher’s lane. Sarratt also has really strong hands that make disengagement a near impossibility for defenders.

Sarratt is an aggressive blocker who keeps his feet moving in the run game. Because of that, he is no stranger to driving defenders into the dirt. He also has good body control as a pull player. Second-level blocking comes naturally to Sarratt, whether he is climbing or pulling.

As things stand today, Sarratt is the only offensive line pledge in the Gamecocks’ 2025 recruiting class. However, the Gamecocks are in the mix for several more big guys down the stretch of this cycle. He is one of 10 in-state pledges for South Carolina and one of seven rated as a 4-star recruit by at least one major service.
