South Carolina football coach Shane Beamer and his staff have been hard at work on the recruiting trail. Because of that effort, Wednesday’s National Signing Day results were strong.

The Gamecocks had a great Signing Day showing as all 21 of their previously committed players signed with the program, and four more (Zavion Hardy, Christian Ingram, Mike Tyler, and Damola Ajidahun) joined the fold.

In the weeks before NSD, Carolina fluctuated between the No. 24 and No. 25 spots in On3’s team recruiting rankings. However, thanks to Wednesday’s crop, the Gamecocks have moved up to No. 19 in the country. If that holds, 2025 will be the third top-20 class in a row for Shane Beamer’s program.

As is life in the SEC, though, South Carolina sits in 12th place in the conference. Only Mississippi State, Kentucky, Arkansas, and Vanderbilt are behind USC right now. However, this is another good class for the Gamecocks.

Right now, the 2025 South Carolina signing class has 25 players in it. The Gamecocks have 10 recruits signed who are ranked as 4-star prospects in the On3 industry rankings. Of the 15 remaining, four are considered 4-star recruits by at least one major outlet. Two more are Kohl’s Kicking 5-star specialists. Essentially, that means that 16 of the team’s 25 signees are blue chippers.

Oh, and there is an unrevealed #WelcomeHome that Coach Beamer sent out earlier this fall.

Positionally, South Carolina’s signee breakdown looks like this (based on On3’s industry composite):

Most notably, South Carolina has one of the best wide receiver classes in the country. Despite being potentially not done at the position, the Gamecocks compare favorably to some of the other top wideout classes. USC has four top-56 players signed at the position. Only Ohio State matches that number. However, with Carolina still in the running for 4-star Donovan Murph, the Gamecocks could push that to five top-56 receivers.

There is still time for movement in the 2025 class, but Shane Beamer and company have another solid group headed to Columbia.

Looking ahead to next year, South Carolina has the 9th-ranked class in college football. The Gamecocks also are one of just eight teams to have at least four 2026 4-star or 5-star players committed. There is still a long way to go, but USC could be on their way to a fourth consecutive top-20 class.
