Where South Carolina football's recruiting class stands after 4-star commitment

On Friday, South Carolina football landed a huge commitment from Carvers Bay High School 4-star offensive lineman Zyon Guiles. He plays right tackle at the high school level but expects to move inside in college.
The Palmetto State native ranks as the nation’s No. 129 overall player according to On3’s industry ranking, a weighted composite of the rankings from On3, 247Sports, ESPN, and Rivals. He’s also No. 2 in the state of South Carolina and No. 7 among interior offensive line prospects. According to On3’s individual player rankings, those numbers jump up to No. 40 overall, No. 1 in-state, and No. 3 among all 2026 interior linemen. Guiles ranks as the top player in South Carolina’s class according to On3’s player rankings, and he ranks second-highest (behind safety J’Zavien Currence) according to the On3 industry ranking.

Guiles’ pledge created some upward movement in the team recruiting rankings for USC. With six total commitments now in the 2026 cycle, South Carolina has five 4-star pledges in the class. After Guiles’ announcement, the Gamecocks’ class ranks No. 13 in the country and No. 7 group in the SEC. Following an early top-10 ranking in the class, Carolina slid and hovered around No. 20. Last year’s South Carolina football recruiting class ranked 18th nationally and 7th in the SEC.
In addition to Guiles, Carolina has earned commitments from 4-star safety J’Zavien Currence, 4-star tight end Jamel Howse, 4-star cornerback Peyton Dyer, 4-star linebacker/EDGE Keenan Britt, and 3-star offensive lineman Anthony Baxter. Guiles (Hemingway), Currence (Rock Hill), Howse (Newberry), and Baxter (Rock Hill) all hail from South Carolina. Britt, the only commitment who is not an in-state recruit, is an Oxford, Alabama native.
