Four-star wide receiver sets official visit to South Carolina
South Carolina is beginning to rack up scheduled official visits. Over the past several days, multiple big-name class of 2026 prospects have locked in their visits to Columbia. On Thursday, 4-star Chesapeake (Va.) Oscar Smith High School wide receiver Travis Johnson revealed his intentions to check out the Gamecocks with an official. The 6’3″ athletic pass-catcher will be on campus from May 30th until June 1st. Johnson announced the visit on social media.

On3’s industry rankings consider Johnson to be the No. 145 player in the country. He also is No. 5 in Virginia and ranks 23rd nationally among wide receivers.
Johnson’s brother TJ plays at West Virginia, though, other programs like Penn State, Miami, Auburn, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, and Texas A&M are involved, too. He also took an unofficial visit to Penn State for the Nittany Lions’ junior day. It’s unclear where South Carolina falls in his hierarchy, but the Gamecocks will get a chance to take a swing.
As a player, Johnson is a blue chip prospect for a reason. The junior playmaker combines size and speed at the wide receiver position, giving him the versatility of being a deep threat and a weapon in the quick game, too. He makes both routine and spectacular catches look simple and is a major YAC threat. Johnson also made the All-State team for his state title-winning Oscar Smith squad.

In addition to Johnson, South Carolina is in on several other elite receivers in the ’26 cycle. 4-star prospects Gordon Sellars and Ryan Mosley are heavily considering the Gamecocks.
Like Johnson, Sellars recently scheduled his official visit to Columbia. He will be in town the weekend of June 6th. The Gamecocks join Clemson, Georgia, Michigan, and North Carolina at the top of Sellars’ list.
GamecockCentral’s Chris Clark included Mosley among his “best bets” to wind up in South Carolina’s signing class. USC is battling against the Georgia Bulldogs for Mosley’s services.
