South Carolina football commit named one of nation's best in March

South Carolina football picked up a big (literally) commitment in March. 4-star offensive lineman Zyon Guiles, a Palmetto State native, pledged his services to the Gamecocks on March 21st.
Guiles is the No. 1 player in USC’s class according to On3 and the No. 2 player in the class based on the outlet’s industry rankings. He ranks as the No. 40 overall prospect in the country according to On3. He’s also the No. 3 interior lineman in the 2026 cycle and the No. 1 player in South Carolina.
On April 1st, On3 released their list of the top 11 national commitments for the month of March, and Guiles made the cut. He was one of six SEC commitments on the list and one of two offensive linemen.

Said Power, “Zyon Guiles has been a steady riser in On3’s rankings over the past year. The recent South Carolina commit checks in as the No. 3 interior offensive line prospect. At 6-foot-4.5, 290 pounds with a sturdy build, Guiles is a dominant player on Friday nights at Hemingway (S.C.) Carvers Bay. He’s a coordinated athlete with good functional movement skills and flexibility. We also see considerable power. Guiles is a physical, nasty block finisher on junior game film. While likely to project inside long-term, there is the possibility for some positional versatility at the college level.”
With phrases like “good functional movement skills and flexibility,” “considerable power,” and “physical, nasty block finisher” pairing with the descriptor of “dominant,” it’s clear to see what stands out about Guiles.

But according to the big fella, himself, a couple of things stood out about South Carolina in his recruitment.
Guiles previously told GamecockCentral that representing his home state and playing for a family-like program were major factors in his recruiting decision-making process. “It’s not too far from where I live, so that’s one big plus for me,” he said. He added, “They’re family over there for sure.”

Guiles is joined by 4-star safety J’Zavien Currence, 4-star tight end Jamel Howse, 4-star cornerback Peyton Dyer, 4-star linebacker/EDGE Keenan Britt, and 3-star interior offensive lineman Anthony Baxter in the class. Guiles, Currence, Howse, and Baxter are all in-state prospects.
