4-star South Carolina target rising in recruiting rankings
South Carolina football coach Shane Beamer has his program after some highly-touted offensive linemen in the class of 2026. One of them, in-state prospect Zyon Guiles, is moving even higher in the recruiting rankings.
After a recent rankings bump, Guiles sits as the No. 87 overall prospect in America according to On3. Based on the On3 industry composite, he’s No. 185 nationally, No. 2 in the Palmetto State, and No. 14 among interior offensive linemen.
Guiles’ ascension up the recruiting rankings isn’t only seen through numbers. His offer list is impressive. Recently, he has picked up offers from big-time programs like Alabama, Florida, Auburn, Tennessee, North Carolina, Florida State, and Colorado. Before that, he already boasted offers from about 15 other Division-I programs.

A Carvers Bay High School product, Guiles is a physical specimen. Listed at 6’4.5″ and 290 pounds, the big fella is athletic, too. His explosive hips allow him to fire off the ball better than guys his size should be capable of doing. However, he also can move in space and seems to relish the opportunity to crush smaller players at the second and third levels. Nicknamed “Zeus,” Guiles more resembles the god of thunder’s son Hercules when he gets his hands on defenders; no matter how hard they try, defensive players become helpless when fighting against his strong hands.

Guiles spends most of his time playing offensive tackle for Carvers Bay, but On3 rates him as an interior player. He has the physical makeup of a player who could play well at any spot up front. That physical makeup is only improving, too. Heading into his junior campaign, Guiles had to change his jersey number because he grew too big to wear the uniform he wore as a sophomore. Now, instead of seeing No. 55 escorting opposing defensive linemen to the sideline or their backsides, it is No. 76.

This weekend, offensive line coach Lonnie Teasley will continue his hot pursuit. After Teasley and head coach Shane Beamer stopped by Carvers Bay earlier this week, they will get the chance to have Guiles on campus for the Gamecocks’ matchup with top-10 Texas A&M on Saturday. This will not be Guiles’ first time on campus, but he will be surrounded by South Carolina football commitments and targets in what is sure to be a great environment for the sold-out night SEC contest.
The Gamecocks are not the only team making a run at earning Guiles’ pledge. However, being from the Palmetto State, several other South Carolina commitments are putting the pressure on him. There have been no signs that his recruitment is close to ending, but USC is firmly in the mix.
