South Carolina football announces another sellout, Williams-Brice full every game
On Thursday night, the South Carolina football program announced that Williams-Brice Stadium will be sold out again this Saturday. When the Gamecocks take on the Wofford Terriers, it will be in front of a capacity crowd for the seventh time this fall. For those counting at home, that means that Carolina fans have filled the seats for every game of the 2024 football season.
While Saturday is not a “big game,” it will be the last time South Carolina football fans get to watch their Gamecocks play at home until next fall. It also is Senior Day, meaning Shane Beamer’s program will honor the team’s veteran players in a pre-game ceremony. The University of South Carolina will honor the United States military as part of its annual Salute the Troops Day, as well.

Heading into the final home matchup of the year, USC is 7-3 and ranked in the top 20. The Gamecocks finished their SEC conference slate with a winning record (5-3) for the first time since 2017. South Carolina also is riding a four-game winning streak that includes three ranked victories.

As things stand, the Gamecocks are 42.5-point favorites over the in-state Terriers. With a victory, South Carolina would secure just the 16th 8-win season in program history. A win also would tie Shane Beamer for the most wins in a Gamecock head coach’s first four years. Steve Spurrier won 28 games from 2005-2008; Beamer has at least three more games to match that number.
South Carolina has won 17 games in a row against Wofford. The last time the Spartanburg-based Terriers beat the Gamecocks was over 100 years ago in 1917.
Saturday’s kickoff will be at 4:00 p.m., but Senior Day festivities begin at 3:30 p.m.
