South Carolina football signee named All-American
On Monday, South Carolina football offensive line signee Shed Sarratt picked up a well-deserved honor. The Palmetto State native was named a Navy All-American and will play in the All-American Bowl on January 11th. Sarratt’s recognition marks three years straight that South Carolina has inked at least one All-American high school offensive lineman.

Sarratt, a Gaffney High School product, is an On3 industry rankings 4-star prospect. He is the No. 395 player nationally, No. 9 recruit in South Carolina, and No. 31 among interior offensive linemen. In On3’s individual player rankings, those numbers then bump up to No. 219, No. 4, and No. 13, respectively.
Some recruiting outlets project Sarratt as an interior player, while others view him as a guard. The Gamecocks like some versatility with their linemen, and Sarratt’s combination of strength and athleticism provides that. He’s got enough in his lower half to hold up against SEC defensive tackles, but his feet are smooth enough to handle quick EDGE players, too. Listed at 6’3.5″ and 290 pounds, Sarratt is built more like a guard. However, his long wingspan provides him with a boost in pass protection that keeps tackle as an option for his future.

The big fella is a ferocious player in the trenches. He’s got strong hands and shows good explosion from his lower body on film. He also possesses better-than-average body control, allowing him to limit his misses when attempting to throw a block in space. Sarratt is the type of lineman who enjoys finishing blocks, too, often driving opposing players into the sideline or into the dirt.

Sarratt is one of two blue chip offensive linemen in South Carolina’s 2025 signing class. Damola Ajidahun, a true tackle who flipped on National Signing Day from Georgia Tech, is the other.
