Sterling Lucas preaching effort as top priority in early going

When South Carolina football transfer defensive end Terrell Dawkins hit the transfer portal looking for a new school, the Gamecocks only had one problem. They didn't have an assistant coach for his position. While South Carolina was in the process of replacing Mike Peterson, head coach Shane Beamer and defensive coordinator Clayton White assured Dawkins during his official visit to the school that they were going to hire a great position coach to mold him on and off the field if he chose the Gamecocks.
