South Carolina football learns kick time, some television details for Texas A&M matchup

Following a tough loss on the road to Ole Miss on Saturday night, South Carolina returns home for an open date. The bye also brings some coaching changes, as head coach Shane Beamer fired offensive coordinator Mike Shula after the loss to the Rebels. The Gamecocks will have two weeks to adjust to new offensive leadership before meeting up with the Texas A&M Aggies.
On Monday, the Southeastern Conference announced the kick time and some television details for that contest.
South Carolina (3-6; 1-6) will travel to College Station for a noon (Eastern) contest against No. 3 Texas A&M (8-0; 5-0) on Saturday, November 15th. Either ABC or ESPN will handle the broadcast, while the ESPN app streams the action on the field. Final network determination will come this weekend.
The Gamecocks have not played a noon game yet this season. The A&M showdown will be just the fourth non-night game of the year, too. Carolina previously faced off against Virginia Tech (on a Sunday) and Alabama in the mid-afternoon window. The October 18th game against Oklahoma came in the early window, but it kicked off at 12:45.
The Gamecocks’ final SEC contest is also the fifth top-15 game in a row for the team. Through the first four of those games, USC is 0-4.

Last season, South Carolina whipped a top-10 Texas A&M squad at Williams-Brice Stadium. The Gamecocks rode huge performances from quarterback LaNorris Sellers, running back Rocket Sanders, and tight end Josh Simon to a 44-20 victory.
Sellers registered 350 yards of total offense and three touchdowns. Sanders had over 230 yards from scrimmage and a pair of rushing touchdowns. Simon logged 132 receiving yards and two touchdowns. For his efforts, Sellers earned some National Player of the Week recognitions.
The defense gave up four scoring drives in the first half but dominated after halftime. A&M didn’t score in the second half as the Gamecocks won their second of six in a row to close the regular season.

The last time these two teams met in College Station, South Carolina lost by a score of 17-30 in 2023. Though the Gamecocks have won two in a row in Columbia, the program has never won at Kyle Field. Texas A&M is 5-0 all-time when hosting USC.
Though last year’s Texas A&M team was ranked in the top 10 for part of the year, this year’s group appears poised to finish the year that high.
The undefeated Aggies play Missouri before South Carolina, but wins in both games would make them a lock for their first-ever appearance in the College Football Playoff.
On the flip side, South Carolina has to beat A&M to keep bowl eligibility on the table. With six losses already, the Gamecocks have to win out to reach the traditional six-win threshold.
Following the road trip, Shane Beamer’s team will return home for games against Coastal Carolina and Clemson.
