South Carolina football was not included in the top 25 of the USA Today Sports AFCA coaches poll, which was released on Monday.

Shane Beamer’s program did come up in the “others receiving votes” category, with Carolina listed as having five points.

The weekly poll is compiled using votes from a panel of 65 randomized volunteer head coaches from all conferences as well as independents. Each participating coach submits a full top 25, and points are awarded based on each team’s listed position in each poll.

Several head coaches of South Carolina football’s 2022 opponents are on the panel. Georgia’s Kirby Smart, Arkansas’ Sam Pittman, and Florida’s Billy Napier all are listed voters in the poll.
