South Carolina football reveals uniform combo for Ole Miss game
Saturday presents a big opportunity for the South Carolina football program. The Gamecocks have the chance to knock off a top-12 team in the friendly confines of Williams-Brice Stadium to move to 4-1 (likely getting ranked in the process) and showcase an elite gameday atmosphere for the long list of big-time high school and junior college prospects who are on campus for official and unofficial visits.

The University of South Carolina called for a “garnet-out” earlier in the week, making the jersey choice obvious. However, the rest of the uniform was unknown. Some fans speculated the old “fire ant” (all garnet) look would make an appearance. Others made known their preferences for white, black, or garnet helmets and pants.
Several hours ahead of the game, though, the Gamecocks revealed their uniform combination for the high-profile matchup on social media.
The social media team dropped a few hints along the way (first came a picture of South Carolina’s black helmet sitting at midfield just beneath the Gamecock logo) before ultimately revealing that South Carolina will rock black helmets, garnet jerseys, and black pants on Saturday. It will be the first time the Gamecocks wear the combination this season.

The atmosphere in Williams-Brice Stadium will be electric on Saturday. The Gamecocks have picked up two 4-star commitments in the last 24 hours (and could be in line for another), have initiated the “garnet-out,” and have one of the most important games of the Shane Beamer era on deck. Both the Gamecocks and the Rebels need a win to have a chance at turning a good season into a great one, but only one team will emerge victorious.
The Rebels and Gamecocks will kick off at 3:30 p.m. ESPN will broadcast the game, and streaming will be available on the ESPN app.
