South Carolina football fans are among the best in the nation. The Gamecock Faithful have helped turn Williams-Brice Stadium into one of the best college football venues around. In recent years, fans and analysts outside of Columbia have begun to catch on to that fact.

This week, USA Today writer Blake Toppmeyer ranked every stadium in the SEC, and Williams-Brice earned a favorable spot. Ranking sixth in the league behind only the Florida Gators’ Ben Hill Griffin Stadium/Steve Spurrier-Florida Field/The Swamp, LSU Tigers’ Tiger Stadium/Death Valley, Tennessee Volunteers’ Neyland Stadium, Alabama Crimson Tide’s Bryant-Denny Stadium, and Georgia Bulldogs’ Sanford Stadium.

Said Toppmeyer, “The Gamecocks peck above their weight at home, playing in one of the SEC’s most underrated venues. The stadium comes alive when Darude’s ‘Sandstorm’ plays, and fans wave white towels chanting, ‘U-S-C! U-S-C!'”

Over the past three seasons, South Carolina has gone exactly 5-2 each year inside the friendly confines of Willy B. The results are even better once the sun goes down, as the Gamecocks have lost just one home night game during that same span. In fact, Shane Beamer’s team has more top 10 victories than overall home losses at night since 2022.

During the 2025 season, South Carolina will play seven more home contests. Those games include matchups against South Carolina State, Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Alabama, Coastal Carolina, and Clemson. Last year, the Gamecocks faced five of those teams on the road, winning four times, providing optimism that the team can match or improve upon their 5-2 home mark from a year ago.

Earlier this summer, EA Sports ranked Williams-Brice Stadium 16th nationally and 9th in the SEC.
