Bam Martin-Scott declares for NFL Draft
South Carolina senior linebacker Bam Martin-Scott has declared for the 2025 NFL Draft, he announced on Instagram Friday.
Martin-Scott was technically a senior with no eligibility left but has been seeking an extra year of eligibility from the NCAA.

The former JUCO transfer did not fall under the exact guidelines of the so-called “Diego Pavia Rule” which granted extra eligibility to those who played junior college ball within the last five years because Martin-Scott’s five-year window began before that.
It has not been publicly revealed if Martin-Scott received a ruling from the NCAA but sources had indicated that there wasn’t much confidence in him receiving a positive result.

Nonetheless, Martin-Scott couldn’t wait around forever and will now turn his attention to preparing for the league.
A part of Carolina’s trio of co-starters at linebacker this season, Martin-Scott emerged in a major way late in his junior season in 2023.
He finished the 2024 campaign third on the team with 65 tackles. He also added 2.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, two passes defended, and a fumble recovery.

Martin-Scott posted a heartfelt message on social media to announce his plans:
My time here at the University of South Carolina has been nothing short of a blessing and major opportunity for me.
As a student-athlete at USC, I’ve crossed paths with outstanding teammates, coaches, support staff, and the best fan base I could have asked for. It’s been an honor to play for Coach Beamer, who took a chance on me and helped develop and enhance my talent as a football player.
To my family and loved ones, I can’t thank you enough for the constant love and support you have all shown me along this journey. To the South Side of Fort Wayne, IN, and all my Snider High School coaches, teachers, and friends, I couldn’t have made it this far without y’all. Thank you for your support and believing in me.
Proverbs 3:5-6: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
With that being said, I am excited for this next chapter in my life to fulfill a childhood dream of mine!
I am officially declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft.
