South Carolina depth chart: Nyck Harbor moves onto first team
After making his first career start this past Saturday, freshman wide receiver Nyckoles Harbor is now officially a first-teamer on the South Carolina football depth chart.
The Gamecocks released the updated depth chart on Monday afternoon in preparation for this week’s home game with Jacksonville State.

Harbor responded after an early drop to catch six passes for 59 yards against Texas A&M.
“He had an unbelievable week of practice,” head coach Shane Beamer said. “I told his dad at the team hotel, we do one-on-one receivers versus DB’s on Wednesday in practice, and he had one of the most impressive periods of one-on-one routes.”
The depth chart, which is not updated every single week, typically reflects what was seen on the field during the week before rather than necessarily being representative of any future changes.
Harbor takes O’Mega Blake’s position in the starting lineup alongside Xavier Legette and Ahmarean Brown.
The depth chart typically also doesn’t reflect injuries. Brown did not play this past week due to a hamstring injury and Luke Doty started at the slot receiver position in his place.

Freshman Jalon Kilgore is now officially listed as South Carolina’s starting nickelback, a position he has played the last two weeks after starting out the season at safety. Nick Emmanwori is now listed as a safety again, the spot he’s played the last two games.
Keenan Nelson Jr. is listed as DQ Smith’s backup at safety and could start this week. Smith was ejected for targeting in the second half this past weekend and is slated to miss the first half of this week’s game, though Carolina plans to appeal.
