South Carolina football is expected to host at least two five-star recruits for the Gamecocks’ home opener against Furman this Saturday night at Williams-Brice Stadium.

Washington (D.C.) Friendship Collegiate Academy class of 2024 five-star EDGE Dylan Stewart and Savannah (Ga.) Christian Prep class of 2025 five-star DL Elijah Griffin are both expected to be in Columbia for the game, GamecockCentral has learned.

EXPECTED VISITORS LIST: South Carolina vs. Furman

The 6-foot-5, 250-pound Stewart committed to South Carolina last month over finalists Ohio State, Georgia, Miami, and Maryland.

“What led me to commit to them is the family vibe and they really care about you,” Stewart told On3. “Two, it’s the SEC. Three, I know I’m going to get developed because my coaches have done it at all levels and know what it takes. I click with the guys committed in the 2024 class and I’m very comfortable there. It’s like a second home to me.”

Stewart ranks as the No. 11 player in the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also tabs in as the No. 2 EDGE and the No.1  player in Washington D.C.

The 6-foot-4, 270-pound Griffin is the No. 2 overall prospect in the 2025 class and has been a priority target for the Gamecocks for over a year now.

“Columbia is like downtown Savannah for me,” Griffin told On3’s Chad Simmons last month. “It is not too big and it just has that similar feel for me. It is like I am back in my hometown when I am at South Carolina.”

South Carolina and UGA have been the primary contenders in Griffin’s recruitment for months but Clemson appears to have entered the mix among the top schools as of late and he also said last month that he wants to take visits to Oregon, Southern Cal, and Texas.

Griffin is considered the No. 2 overall prospect and the No. 1 defensive lineman in the 2025 On3 Industry Rankings — a weighted average of all four major recruiting media sites.

South Carolina (0-1) and Furman (1-0) are set for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff Saturday night at Williams-Brice Stadium with SEC Network Plus and ESPN Plus carrying the action.
