A South Carolina football team that appeared to be on the back end of at least some of its many injury problems after the bye week, has seen its injury report start to grow in length once again.

After coming out of the Florida game relatively healthy, South Carolina suffered several setbacks in Saturday’s loss to Missouri, including blows to two positions that have already been hard hit this year.

“Injury-wise, I would say it’s a long list,” Shane Beamer said on his Sunday teleconference. “We were worried about Mario Anderson coming out of the game. He will be fine. Trovon Baugh and Tree (Babalade) both had some injuries yesterday. I would say both those guys are questionable for Saturday. Stone Blanton came out of the game well. Cason Henry is questionable. Ahmarean Brown, I would say, is questionable. Vershon Lee is questionable. And Xavier Legette is questionable.”

Legette, South Carolina’s leading receiver this year with 38 catches for 736 yards and three touchdowns, exited the game in the second quarter with what Beamer called an upper body injury. He did not return and was spotted with a towel over his head on the sideline.

Babalade suffered a second-half knee injury while Brown was dinged up with a hamstring issue, Beamer said Saturday.

Baugh’s specific injury has not been disclosed.

Anderson (ankle) and Blanton (thigh bruise) were both dealing with injuries suffered against Florida, but were able to play against Missouri.

Lee, who made the move from center to right tackle for the first time this year against Florida, exited that game with a knee injury late in the first half and did not travel to Mizzou. Beamer said on Thursday that Lee could return for the game after A&M.

Henry was injured on the fourth play of the season against North Carolina and has missed every play since but appears to be getting closer to a potential return.

Beamer is hopeful that the list will shrink as the week progresses.

“And I’m not trying to be vague with you guys,” Beamer said. “That’s literally where we are today. We got back last night late. And then we’re in the training room today. A lot of those guys are getting tests done today and don’t have the results back. And then obviously, tomorrow is our off day. And then we come back in here on Tuesday. So certainly, we’ll know a lot more on Tuesday. And hopefully, a lot of those questionables will be probables and not doubtfuls when I see you guys on Tuesday.”

South Carolina takes on Texas A&M this upcoming Saturday in College Station with kickoff scheduled for noon and SEC Network carrying the game.
