Tuesday injury report: Shane Beamer gives latest on Nick Emmanwori, Ahmarean Brown

South Carolina football coach Shane Beamer said on Sunday that freshman Markee Anderson and transfer JT Geer were probable for this week’s Georgia game and that every other injured Gamecocks player who hadn’t been previously ruled out was considered questionable for the matchup.
On Tuesday, during his weekly press conference, Beamer gave a similar injury report but then provided some additional details.
“If you’ve got specific questions about guys, I’ll answer them, but I’ll tell you the same thing I told you Sunday night, everybody is questionable,” Beamer said Tuesday. “So pretty much anybody you’re going to ask me about, is questionable. They all practiced today or did a little bit in practice except Ahmarean Brown but we expect AB to do some stuff tomorrow and we’ll see how everybody progresses throughout the week.”

Brown and safety Nick Emmanwori are both dealing with hamstring injuries.
Emmanwori, the Gamecocks’ leading tackler a season ago, suffered the setback on the first drive of the season in Charlotte and tried to return to that game but couldn’t stay on the field, and then was held out this past week against Furman.
Brown suffered his injury during a punt return against Furman.
“Those are things that can linger throughout the season if you don’t let them heal the right way,” Beamer said Tuesday. “You don’t want to rush things, for sure. But we’re smart with it. Clint (Haggard), down in the training room, and our strength and conditioning staff, ramping him up and trying to do what he can do each and every day.
“And I told (Emmanwori) before practice — he practiced today and looked good out there in practice, I thought, he didn’t do everything, he was limited but looked good — but told him at the beginning of practice, ‘You’re practicing today, you’re doing a little bit today, you’ll do a little bit more tomorrow, and a little bit more on Thursday, Friday walkthrough or jog-through, and then we’ll be ready to go on Saturdays.’ I trust the medical personnel and the strength and conditioning personnel. They want to go out there and go, but we’ve got to be smart and realize we don’t play today, we play on Saturday.

Nickelbacks Keenan Nelson Jr. and David Spaulding have also been dealing with injuries and would likely be considered among those that Beamer listed as questionable.
Nelson is dealing with an upper-body injury suffered against Furman, Beamer said Saturday night, though he didn’t expect it to be a long-term injury.
Spaulding went down early with a hamstring injury against UNC and then did not play against Furman.
Offensive guard JonDarius Morgan fell on his wrist against Furman as well.
While Beamer did not specifically mention him Sunday, right tackle Cason Henry is expected to be out for a while after suffering a lower body injury against UNC.
South Carolina and Georgia are set for a 3:30 kickoff this Saturday in Athens with CBS carrying the action.
