As Gamecocks commit Grayson “Pup” Howard proclaimed on Twitter, it’s officially Nyckoles Harbor week at the University of South Carolina.

The five-star athlete from Washington (D.C.) Archbishop Carroll, and priority Gamecocks target, is scheduled to take his official visit to Columbia this weekend as South Carolina hosts the No. 1-ranked Georgia Bulldogs.

The 6-foot-5, 225-pounder is one of the most gifted and unique prospects Gamecock Central has covered in recent memory.

Harbor has emerged as not only a major target for the staff but prospects like Howard, 2024 quarterback commit Dante Reno and other Carolina commits have logged quite a few manhours recruiting him themselves.

A true two-way player, who really could play almost any position on the field, Harbor is being recruited as a tight end on offense and pass-rusher on defense and he has the ability to excel at both.

Perhaps even more miraculous are his exploits on the track where he is one of the best sprinters in the country.

Harbor is ranked by the On3Consensus — a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies — as the 10th-best football prospect in the country. He’s rated as the top athlete in the nation and the number one prospect in D.C.

Harbor has already made two visits to Columbia on an unofficial basis: one last June and one in July of this year.

After the South Carolina official, Harbor will take official visits to Michigan on Sept. 23 and LSU on Oct. 7. He also plans to set OVs with Maryland and Miami.

“The plan is just to figure out which college is best for me,” Harbor said a couple of weeks ago. “Which college is best for my family, my academics, my athletics, and just for me for 40 year, 50 year, 60 year plan, not just the next three to four years.”

Gamecock Central’s Chris Clark sat down with Harbor for an in-depth interview a couple of weeks ago that subscribers can read here.

Harbor told GamecockCentral.com that he’s currently leaning towards verbally committing in December or January and signing during the February 2023 late signing period.

Nyckoles Harbor Scouting Report from On3

Nyckoles Harbor is the rarest jumbo athlete we’ve seen as a recruit. He’s one of the nation’s top sprinters at around 6-foot-5, 225 pounds. Harbor could play as a pass rusher or big pass catcher at the college level. There are not many great comparisons given his physical dimensions and lack of polish as a pass catcher, but we’ve landed on former college wide receiver and NFL tight end Darren Waller, who ran 4.46 at the NFL Combine at 6-foot-6, 238 pounds.
