One of South Carolina’s most consistent performers for the last two seasons has locked in his return to the Gamecocks.

Rising junior safety Jalon Kilgore has signed a new Garnet Trust deal, South Carolina’s official collective announced on Monday evening.

While there were no indications that the two-year starter and former Freshman All-American was even considering leaving, the Garnet Trust announcement all but guarantees he’ll be back with Carolina in 2025.

A starter for each of the last two seasons, Kilgore has racked up 122 total tackles with five picks in 24 games played, including 21 starts.

A former four-star prospect, Kilgore signed with the Gamecocks in the 2023 class out of Putnam County High School in Eatonton, Ga.

“Kudos to our fanbase, kudos to our administration, kudos to the Garnet Trust for all they’ve done to be able to help us and our guys out in so many ways,” Beamer said of South Carolina’s efforts in player retention last year. “This program is about relationships, honesty, and trust and having conversations with guys, and building relationships throughout the season. Guys have expressed to us that they want to be (here).”
