South Carolina EDGE Dylan Stewart and quarterback LaNorris Sellers have generated plenty of buzz going into the 2025 season and it comes as no surprise that both players are high on On3’s list of the Top 100 players in college football.

The list, put together by On3’s Clark Brooks, who some will remember as the architect of the SECStatCat X account and website as well as a guest on GC Live, places Stewart as the No. 2 overall player in the country and Sellers at the No. 8 player.

“An impact player in every sense of the word, Stewart has a knack for causing chaos and demoralizing opposing offensive linemen,” Brooks said. “At 6’6, 250 – he’s the only returning defensive lineman to sit inside the top 4 in both havoc plays (62) and PFF pass rush grade (91.4). Freakish vibes. And, the rising sophomore is just getting started.”

The unanimous Freshman All-American, Freshman All-SEC selection and finalist for the Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year Award in 2024, appeared in all 13 games, starting 11 as a true freshman,n and was credited with 23 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, and 6.5 sacks.

Stewart and Sellers team up to give the Gamecocks one of the best young offense-defense duos in college football.

“Sellers puts the spec.. Umm rec spec .. into spectacular,” Brooks said. “Few QBs are blessed with physical tools like his. And unlike some of these other aliens of that ilk, he has to date shown to be a prudent, accurate passer that avoids biffs and tossing the ball into harm’s way.

“To that point, he was the only SEC high volume starter last fall to finish inside the conference’s top 2 in both Depth Adjusted Accuracy and Interceptable%. He is capable of scoring on any play with his arm or his legs – both in and out of structure. Fumbles are something to monitor, but his upside is premium.”

Sellers, the SEC’s Freshman of the Year, Freshman All-SEC, and third-team All-SEC honoree, completed 196-of-299 passes for 2,534 yards, 18 touchdowns, and seven picks last season, adding 674 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground.

South Carolina is one of only three schools to put more than one player in the Top 10 on the list, joining Texas, which has three (Colin Simmons, Anthony Hill Jr., Arch Manning), and Ohio State (Jeremiah Smith, Caleb Downs).

Junior defensive back Jalon Kilgore rounds out the Gamecocks on the list, checking in at No. 31.

A two-year starter, Kilgore has appeared in all 25 games over the past two seasons with 22 starts, collecting 124 tackles and six career interceptions.
