Wednesday South Carolina injury report for Texas A&M
South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer said earlier this week that he expects wide receiver Jared Brown to be back for this weekend’s matchup and Wednesday’s SEC player availability report reflected that listing Brown as “probable.”
While Beamer had also hoped entering the bye week that senior defensive lineman DeAndre Jules would be back this week, Jules has already been ruled out for Saturday”s game according to the report.
Senior offensive lineman Jakai Moore is also listed as “out” as expected.
The good news for the Gamecocks is that those are the only three players listed on Wednesday’s report.
“We’re in pretty good shape from a health standpoint,” Beamer said Tuesday. “Jared Brown’ll be back this week. Jules probably won’t be. But other than that, we’re in great shape. We’re healthier, we’re more experienced.”

Brown appeared to be emerging as one of South Carolina’s top receiving threats earlier this year only to suffer a lower-body injury late in the first half against LSU. It also kept him out the following week against Akron. He came back for the Ole Miss game only to get hurt again and miss the next two contests.
The “probable” designation means there’s a 75 percent chance that he’ll play Saturday according to the SEC’s definitions.
Beamer has been confident for some time that Brown would be back this week but less so for Jules who was injured against Ole Miss and hasn’t played in the last two games.

Starting cornerback O’Donnell Fortune has also been dealing with a nagging injury that popped up again against Oklahoma but appears to be fine since Beamer did not mention him on Tuesday and he was not listed on Wednesday’s report.

Beamer will likely give another injury report on Thursday during his call-in show at 6 p.m. and then a second player availability report will come out late that night at around 8 p.m.
The SEC recently approved a player availability injury report system for football, men’s and women’s basketball and baseball.
SEC school personnel must submit availability reports three days before each football game, with daily updates leading to a final report 90 minutes before game time. For basketball and baseball, reports are filed the night before, with an update on game day.
When schools submit injury reports, players will be designated as available, probable, doubtful, and questionable before game day. On game day, designations will be available, game-time decision or out. The model follows injury reports similar to the NFL.
The Gamecocks and Aggies are set for a 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff at Williams-Brice Stadium on Saturday with ABC carrying the game.
