Five predictions: South Carolina football vs. Kentucky
As South Carolina football takes on Kentucky at home, GamecockCentral.com staffers predict some things that may happen on the field against the Wildcats.
CHRIS CLARK: With USC down a pair of running backs, and some questions in the run game – especially short yardage – this game seems ripe for more LaNorris Sellers.
Here’s to thinking that the Gamecocks’ talented freshman quarterback sees five carries or more in this game.

WES MITCHELL: Xavier Legette will return a kickoff for a touchdown. As amazing as Legette has been this season at receiver, the Carolina kickoff return team has been relatively quiet with no real explosive plays.
There’s no stat or analytic that points to this — Kentucky has a pretty high touchback percentage and has allowed just two returns over 30 yards and none over 40 — it’s just a gut feeling that unit is due, and I’m running out of new things to predict this late in the season.

KENDALL SMITH: It’s crunch time in Columbia!
I get the feel for this game that I did for A&M last year, I just knew all week the Gamecocks would come out on top. Let’s start this game the same way South Carolina did against the Aggies last season.

I think the Gamecocks will take it to the house on their first return of the night. Why not?!
MIKE UVA: With Dakereon Joyner and Juju McDowell out, the Gamecocks will need others not just named Mario Anderson to step up this weekend.
Not only will freshman RB Djay Braswell find the end zone, but for a second straight week LaNorris Sellers will be responsible for a TD as well.

JACK VELTRI: Kentucky quarterback Devin Leary has been very spotty lately. He’s thrown for under 200 yards in each of his last two games.
With how important this game is, I think South Carolina’s defense will step up and hold Leary to under 200 passing yards for the third straight week.
