On Monday, more than a dozen South Carolina Gamecocks are expected to participate in Pro Day in hopes to play football at the next level.
While five of those players recently took part in the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, Pro Day will provide a home field advantage for those players when they go through drills and testing. As well as every player who’ll be participating.

In years past, dozens of NFL and CFL scouts, as well as coaches, have shown up to Columbia to watch South Carolina’s Pro Day. While there’s been no official list provided on which teams will be there I think it’s save to that nearly every NFL team, if not all of them, will be there.

The day will begin at noon inside of the Long Family Football Operations Center before moving into the Spurrier Indoor Practice Facility. While the event is closed off to the general public, media and family will have an opportunity to watch field testing. That includes the 40-yard dash, broad jump, short shuttle, and 3-cone drill. Measurements (height and weight, wingspan, and hand size), bench press, and vertical testing have historically been done without media present. Typically that’s held in USC’s weight room.

Of the players who weren’t invited to the NFL Combine there’s two players I’m very eager to watch. Those two are Nate Adkins and Eric Douglas. I think Adkins is a guy who is gonna be a diamond in the rough find for an NFL team. He’s capable of playing tight end, full back, and special teams. The son of an offensive line coach (I still consider his dad Greg an OL coach when I talk about him) he probably understands blocking better than most TE/FB because of it.
Douglas is another player who I’m interested to watch in drills. He became a tremendous leader for USC after learning from a long list of talented OL when he was younger. He has a high football IQ and I think he could be very valuable for any team who takes a shot on him.
