Five-star EDGE sets decision date
South Carolina has been a major player for Charlotte (N.C.) Myers Park class of 2026 five-star EDGE Rodney Dunham for some time but fresh off a visit to Notre Dame the big-time pass-rusher has set a decision date.
A couple of weeks after announcing an official top five of South Carolina, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Duke, and Georgia, Dunham told On3’s Hayes Fawcett Tuesday that he’ll announce his decision on April 10.

The 6-foot-4, 215-pound Dunham had previously set official visits with South Carolina (May 30), Georgia (April 12), Duke (June 6), Notre Dame (June 14), and Tennessee (June 20) but now there’s no word on if most of those trips will even take place, now that a decision is set before them.
Dunham is being recruited to the Gamecocks by rising star assistant Sterling Lucas, who played a critical role in Carolina landing five-star Dylan Stewart in the 2024 class.
Dunham recently moved up to five-star status in the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average of the four major recruiting rankings.

The Industry Ranking considers the 6-foot-4, 215-pound Dunham to be the No. 3 EDGE in his class and the No. 3 prospect in North Carolina.

On3 is even higher on Dunham, ranking him the No. 7 overall prospect in the country.
“Athletic pass rusher with the skill set and functional movement skills that point to a high upside,” On3 Director of Rankings Charles Power said. “Measured at around 6-foot-4, 215 pounds with good length as a junior. Lines up on the edge for his high school team, rushing the passer out of two and three-point stances. Limber athlete who has very smooth movements.
“Displays outstanding get-off, bursting off the snap. Has excellent curvilinear movement skills, showing the ability to accelerate while rounding the edge. Dips his shoulder to shirk contact with offensive tackles. Closes quickly on ball carriers once in the backfield. Play speed is evident as he stalks down ball carriers from behind. Shows burgeoning power at the point of attack, shedding offensive linemen once engaged.
“Will need to continue developing from a physical and technical standpoint. Could stand to improve his production. A younger prospect for the cycle, turning 18 years old in July before his freshman season of college football.”
