More than six months after putting on a show at South Carolina’s camp last summer, Greenville (S.C.) Christ Church Episcopal School class of 2025 wide receiver Jackson Repp officially chose to be a Gamecock earlier this week, joining the program as a walk-on.
Repp, who comes in as part of a potentially transformational receiver class in Columbia, spoke with GamecockCentral about the decision.
“I think every time I’ve been down there, it’s just felt like home in every aspect,” Repp said. “All the coaches and just the facilities and everything—it’s a great program. And the fans around it, all of it, it’s just so great. It really feels like home. And now that I’m committed, it’s awesome. Glad to be done with the process and ready for the next stage.”
As with all of Carolina’s receiver pledges for the 2025 cycle, wide receivers coach Mike Furrey played a large role in Repp’s decision.
“Coach Furrey, he was at Limestone before, and I know Coach (Quin) Hatfield has had a relationship with him,” Repp said. “He introduced me to him, and ever since then, I mean, he’s Coach Furrey—there’s no one I’d rather play for.

“And obviously, as you’ve seen, there’s a lot of other people who feel that way about him. He’s making an impact with the little time he’s been there. So yeah, I mean, he’s a great guy, and I’m glad I can play for him. He’s the best.”

While Repp had a big junior season, his senior year was cut short by a major knee injury. But the rehab process is moving along smoothly and he’s hoping to be back 100 percent soon.
“I think it’s a little too early to tell when my end timetable will be,” Repp said. “I’m hoping around the nine-month mark. I don’t wanna rush it or do anything too soon. I wanna make sure I’m fully back so that I can be good to go. But I’m hoping that right before I would go is when I could get cleared—that’s the goal. Obviously, it’s a long process, and a lot of things can happen. I’m moving well right now, and everything I’m doing, I’m working hard to come back better than I was before. But there’s still a long road ahead, and I’m gonna keep working, so hopefully, we’ll get there before May.”
Then it will be time to get to work.
“This has been a dream of mine since I was little,” Repp said. “I was born in Bama, but I’ve lived here since I can remember. I was one when I moved here, and it’s been a dream to play SEC ball at the highest level, and South Carolina, staying in-state, this is where I wanna be, and this is where I wanted to be. So I’m just so glad I’ve gotten this opportunity. I just wanna thank everybody and praise the Lord. I’m glad I can go out and do this. Just glad to be done though and move on and put the work in.”
