Top punter plans to visit Gamecocks this weekend
As South Carolina’s second big official visit weekend of June continues to take shape, one of the top punters in the country added his name to the Gamecocks’ official visit list.
Riverside (Mo.) Park Hill South class of 2024 punter Mason Love announced on Twitter Tuesday that he’ll visit South Carolina this Friday through Sunday.

While On3 does not rank punters and kickers, the 6-foot, 170-pound Love is ranked the No. 4 punter and No. 19 kicker in the 2024 class by Kohl’s Kicking.
Said the site:
Love put on a show at the 2023 Texas Showcase in the spring of 2023. He dominated the camp by winning the punt and field goal competitions at camp. His punt drill work was exceptional and he showed Power Five ability. Love’s hand-to-toe times were at the college level. Love scored 12/15 points on field goals, 107.9 on kick-offs, and 111 points in punting. He also competed at the National Invitational Scholarship Camp in July of 2022. He scored 103.5 points in punting, and 25/36 points on field goals.
He had another strong showing at the 2022 Kohl’s UC Challenge. He was excellent in his punting and was consistent with his ball striking and hang-time in the charting portion. He was able to hit 4.5+ seconds with ease at the event. He flashed great leg strength in his kickoffs at the event as well. Love attended his first Kohl’s ranking event at the Winter Showcase in December of 2021. He had one of the more impressive overall camps in all three disciplines. Love has the talent to play D1 football early in his career!

The news that Love will visit South Carolina this weekend comes after GamecockCentral reported earlier Tuesday that the Gamecocks will also host Washington (D.C.) Gongaza class of 2024 four-star EDGE DD Holmes this weekend.
The 6-foot-6, 245-pounder narrowed his list to six schools — Florida, Florida State, Maryland, Michigan, Rutgers, and South Carolina — is the No. 271 overall prospect and No. 20 EDGE in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
