Shane Beamer Camp season is here
The first of 10 Shane Beamer Camp days kicks off on Friday as the South Carolina Gamecocks will host campers from all over the country throughout the month of June.
The one-day camps run from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm with the OL/DL camps running from 7:30 am to 12:30 pm and team 7-on-7 tournaments running from 8 am to noon (dates below).
As explained on the South Carolina athletics site, the one-day camps offer the opportunity for high school prospects to learn from the Gamecock staff:
South Carolina football is excited to offer football camps this June. Our summer camps are a great way for young athletes to learn new techniques and become overall better football players. In addition, campers will have the opportunity to learn from our assistant football coaches and current student-athletes at South Carolina. Shane Beamer football camps are designed to help young athletes excel in the game of football. Shane Beamer football camps are open to any and all entrants (limited only by number, age, and/or grade level).

In addition, the camps serve as a key evaluation tool for the staff in finding prospects to potentially offer.
Current South Carolina players like Nick Emmanwori, Zavier Short, and Kylic Horton all landed offers from the Gamecocks during camp.

While recruits from all over will certainly attend, the camps are usually heavily attended by prospects from the Palmetto State.
Beamer recently talked during a Welcome Home Tour stop about the importance of starting in-state and then branching out from there.
“From a recruiting standpoint, we always want to start right here in the state of South Carolina. I know what great football there is here, there’s great tradition in this area,” Beamer said recently. “When we’re able to get young men from this area and the state of South Carolina on our team, we feel like it definitely makes our program better.”
