VIDEO: On3's Charles Power on South Carolina signee LaNorris Sellers
On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power joined Gamecock Central’s Wes Mitchell and Chris Clark on the Tuesday afternoon episode of GC Live to provide insight on South Carolina signees LaNorris Sellers and Vicari Swain.
As Power explains in the video, he has been high on Sellers for quite some time and On3 is currently the only site to rank the new Gamecock signee as a four-star prospect.

On3: LaNorris Sellers’ 2023 season best among QBs
There are a lot of talented quarterbacks in the class of 2023’s On300 rankings but few — if any — had a better senior season than new South Carolina football signee LaNorris Sellers.
Sellers, who announced a flip from Syracuse to South Carolina on Friday and then signed with the Gamecocks, was named as the QB who has the best senior season in On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power‘s class superlatives.
Power has been significantly higher on Sellers’ ability than the rest of the recruiting industry to this point, ranking him as a four-star prospect, the No. 12 quarterback and No. 156 overall prospect in the class.
As has been well-documented, no player in the Palmetto State had a more impactful season for his team than the Florence (S.C.) South Florence standout.

Here is what Power had to say about Sellers’ massive senior season:
Sellers missed most of his junior season, only playing four games before sustaining a broken non-throwing arm. He made up for the lost time in a big way as a senior. Taking stats, team success, competition level and supporting cast into account – we feel Sellers had the most accomplished senior season of any On300 quarterback.
Sellers finished at or near the top in most statistical categories among On300 quarterbacks, while leading Florence (S.C.) South Florence to a 15-0 record and the first state title in any boys sport in school history, while playing in the state’s second-largest classification. The 6-foot-2.5, 215-pounder passed for 2,948 yards (11.4 yards per attempt) and 45 touchdowns against just two interceptions. He also rushed for 1,338 yards and 22 scores. Sellers’ 4.46 touchdowns per game (67 total) was second only to Lincoln Kienholz. He also had the highest passing touchdown rate and lowest interception rate of all On300 quarterbacks.
Sellers capped off his phenomenal senior season with an MVP showing at the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas last weekend. Throughout his senior year he’s showed off a strong arm and tangible velocity as a passer to go with burst, balance and physicality as a run threat. Sellers’ monster senior season combines with his multi-sport background (accomplished soccer player) and young age (turns 18 in June) to point to a high ceiling.

Sellers is considered a three-star prospect in the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, but that doesn’t do any justice to the level of player he is.
That average considers him the No. 535 overall prospect in the class as well as the No. 31 QB and No. 6 prospect in the state.
“Constant communication with the coaches, constant communication with the players on the team,” Sellers said of his flip to South Carolina. “And I just felt like it was what was best for me.”
Gamecocks head coach Shane Beamer gave his thoughts on Sellers on Monday.
“LaNorris is a guy, I mean what can you say? He had a special senior season as a quarterback this year. He was a guy that had some injuries his junior year. Coach (Drew) Marlowe brought his team over for our 7-on-7 camp this past summer and we watched him in camp,” Beamer said after Gator Bowl practice Monday. “We’re just blown away by some of the plays he made in camp in competitive 7-on-7 settings. Then we told him that day, ‘We’re going to watch your tape.’ At that point, we didn’t have a bunch of quarterback offers out there.”
