Where South Carolina commits rank in the new Rivals250

Three South Carolina football commitments from the class of 2024 remain in the Rivals250, which was updated this week, while all five of the Gamecocks’ commits are also four-star prospects on the service.
While On3 uses the On3Consensus — an equal average of all four recruiting media sites — for its team rankings, one thing that’s unique about On3 is the willingness to compare the rankings and to allow the fans to compare for themselves.
With that in mind, the site released the Industry Comparison Tool, a one-stop spot to view all of the rankings for a particular prospect.
With Rivals updating its rankings this week, it’s the perfect time to check in on their rankings for a Gamecocks class that’s off to one of the best starts in school history.

Dorchester (S.C.) Woodland four-star offensive tackle Kam Pringle is South Carolina’s highest-ranked recruit on three of the four major recruiting websites, including Rivals, which ranks him as the No. 40 overall prospect and No. 2 offensive tackle in the country.
That is similar to Pringle’s On3 ranking, which places him as the No. 30 overall prospect and No. 2 offensive tackle in his class.
Rivals has Pringle looking up to only Ohio State commit Ian Moore while On3 has the Palmetto State’s top prospect chasing West Roxbury (Mass.) Catholic Memorial’s Guerby Lambert for the top tackle spot.
The On3Consensus ranks Pringle as the No. 1 offensive tackle and No. 40 overall prospect.

Rivals ranks the 6-foot-4, 225-pound Smith as the No. 220 overall prospect and No. 6 tight end in his class. That’s right in line with On3, which ranks Smith at 209 overall and 10th among tight ends. 247Sports is actually higher on Smith than the rest of the industry, ranking him the No. 59 overall prospect and No. 4 tight end.
The On3Consensus has him at the No. 153 overall prospect and No. 6 tight end in his class.
Rounding out the Carolina commits in the 250 is Marietta (Ga.) Walton four-star linebacker Wendell Gregory, who checks in at No. 229 overall and No. 11 among linebackers.
It’s On3, however, that’s highest on Gregory, and has him pegged as the top prospect in Carolina’s class, No. 39 overall and No. 4 among LBs.
The On3Consensus ranks Gregory as the No. 120 overall prospect and No. 13 LB in the class.
South Carolina commits, QB Dante Reno and ATH/WR Mazeo Bennett, are both four-star prospects on Rivals, though they aren’t in the 250.
Several other priority South Carolina targets with mutual interest (Rivals overall ranking in parentheses) also made the 250: EDGE Dylan Stewart (30), WR Zion Ragans (71), EDGE Justin Greene (97), DL Hevin Brown-Shuler (118), ATH Demello Jones (122), CB Braydon Lee (126), QB Jayden Bradford (142), WR Jonathan Paylor (167), EDGE Jordan Ross (174), ATH Daniel Hill (194), and TE Kylan Fox (223).
