Camden (S.C.) four-star DL Xzavier McLeod committed to South Carolina in August (Wes Mitchell/On3).

Xzavier McLeod was one of six South Carolina football signees who competed Tuesday night in the annual prestigious Under Armour All-America game.

The Camden (S.C.) On3Consensus four-star defensive tackle was listed as a prospect who had increased his stock due to his performance in the game and the week before it in an article from On3 Director of Rankings Charles Power.

Xzavier McLeod showed some disruptive ability and quick movements for a 6-foot-4.5, 325-pounder. The South Carolina signee’s ability to sink his hips and play with low pad level at his stature stood out during individual periods. He carried that athleticism over to the 1-on-1 periods, winning with finesse moves and remaining balanced to finish sacks. McLeod showed signs of being an immovable object during the team periods throughout the week. He may have not finished a ton of plays in the backfiel during those periods, but flashed violent hands when stacking and shedding.

Named South Carolina’s Mr. Football as a senior, McLeod is considered the No. 198 overall prospect and No. 24 defensive tackle in the country in the On3Consensus, which is a rating system that averages all four of the major recruiting services, including On3.

On3 itself has McLeod as a three-star prospect and the No. 49 defensive tackle but this past week’s performance could lead to an increase in that ranking.

Dorman (S.C.) four-star OL Markee Anderson, Upper Maryland (Md.) Flowers four-star EDGE Desmond Umeozulu, Manning (S.C.) four-star EDGE Monteque Rhames, Atlanta (Ga.) Pace four-star OL Trovon Baugh and Fort Myers (Fla.) Lehigh three-star WR Kelton Henderson also were in Orlando for the game.

Those six signees are a part of a 22-man (not counting the transfers) South Carolina 2023 signing class which currently ranks No. 16 in the country in the On3 team recruiting rankings.

Priority South Carolina target Washington (D.C.) Archbishop Carroll five-star ATH Nyckoles Harbor was also at the game and played tight end throughout the week.

Harbor gave the latest on his recruitment here.

McLeod committed to South Carolina in August over Georgia, Florida and Michigan.

“They have told me from the beginning that I can come in, make a big impact in the program, and do big things at South Carolina,” McLeod told On3. “They have been very consistent and had a consistent message for me. It has always been about staying home and doing big things for the school close to home.”
