Senior linebacker planning to enter transfer portal
South Carolina senior linebacker Bangally Kamara plans to sit out the remainder of the season and will enter the NCAA transfer portal, GamecockCentral.com has learned.
The fifth-year defender has played in four games this season for the Gamecocks, meaning that he could redshirt and then play a sixth year at another program.

In those four games, the Akron (Ohio) native has tallied 9 tackles and a tackle for loss for the South Carolina defense. During the 2024 campaign, he has played a total of 70 snaps, including a season-high 30 in the most recent contest against Ole Miss.

Kamara arrived this offseason as a transfer to Columbia, having spent four seasons previously at Pittsburgh. During his time with the Panthers, the 6-foot-2, 229-pounder played in 48 games and accumulated 120 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, and 5 sacks.
The NCAA transfer portal does not officially open this year until December 9, and the window closes on January 7, 2025.
