South Carolina football set to hire new recruiting director
Shane Beamer has hired Darren Uscher to be South Carolina football’s new Director of Player Personnel and Recruiting, the school announced on Monday night.
GamecockCentral.com reported on Monday evening that the school appeared to be closing in on on hiring Uscher, who was Beamer’s top target for the position.
In his role, Uscher will play a key role in evaluating prospects from the high school, junior college, and transfer portal ranks, in addition to helping shape overall recruiting strategy.
A Gamecock alumnus, Uscher currently serves at Oregon as a scouting and player personnel consultant.
Uscher will replace Taylor Edwards, whose departure from the program became official on July 3.
