Shane Beamer gives latest injury update on battered Gamecocks

The already notoriously banged-up Gamecocks suffered even more key injuries in South Carolina’s 30-17 loss at Texas A&M.
Shane Beamer, speaking on his Sunday teleconference, provided the latest on those injuries.
“Injury-wise, we came out of it okay, I guess,” Beamer said. “I think Trai Jones is — I would be shocked if he played this week, hopefully it won’t be longer but I will see. Tree (Babalade), we had not planned on playing, he came in when Trai got hurt and did okay, he’ll be fine for this week. Trovon Baugh, can’t say enough good things about him, proud as heck of him, he fought like crazy to get healthy and to be able to play this week. He actually tweaked his knee against Missouri as well, got out there and battled and played well. He’ll be fine. Cason Henry, I would say is questionable this week. Vershon Lee is questionable, I would say. Xavier Legette was not in there at the end of the game, he got his knee kind of rolled up on he felt like, but should be fine this week.”

Jones went down with a high-ankle sprain while tight end Trey Knox exited the matchup with a hamstring injury he suffered while being drug down after a catch.
Beamer said that he expect Knox to be able to play this week.
Legette was questionable entering the game and was able to play but was clearly not himself.
Offensive linemen Trovon Baugh and Tree Babalade were also both questionable entering the matchup. Baugh was able to start and play while Babalade was only available “in emergency” — that emergency came when Jones suffered his injury, forcing Babalade in at left tackle with Jakai Moore sliding over to left guard.
