Shane Beamer: J.T. Geer, Markee Anderson could make South Carolina debuts
Shane Beamer provided his usual Sunday evening injury report on his teleconference as the Gamecocks get ready for a Week 3 matchup with Georgia, and the South Carolina football coach indicated transfer EDGE J.T. Geer and freshman guard Markee Anderson could both make their Gamecock debuts this week.
“Injury-wise, hope to get Markee Anderson back this week,” Beamer said. “I would say he’s very probable. Hope to get J.T. Geer back this week; I would say he’s probable. And then, for the sake of time, I’m not going to go through every single person, so anybody that you’re going to ask me about is questionable. And that’s guys that were (injured) going into the game last night, that’s guys that got hurt in the game last night — they’re all questionable at this point. Nobody that I can say is definitely out; nobody that I can say is definitely playing. We’ll see how treatment goes today, tomorrow, and have a better update for you on Tuesday.”

One can assume that safety Nick Emmanwori, wide receiver Ahmarean Brown, nickelback Keenan Nelson Jr. and David Spaulding — all of whom either exited the Furman game early or missed the game entirely — are included in that “questionable” category.
Emmanwori, the Gamecocks’ leading tackler a season ago, suffered a hamstring injury on the first drive of the season in Charlotte and tried to return to that game but couldn’t stay on the field, and then was held out this past week against Furman.
Spaulding was in a similar situation, going down early with a hamstring injury against UNC and then not playing this Saturday night.

Brown exited the Furman game with a hamstring injury on a punt return and wanted to return to the matchup but the staff held him out, especially given the lopsided nature of the game, Beamer said Saturday night.
Nelson is dealing with an upper-body injury suffered against Furman, Beamer said Saturday night, though he didn’t expect it to be a long-term injury.
Offensive guard JonDarius Morgan fell on his wrist against Furman as well.
While Beamer did not specifically mention him Sunday, right tackle Cason Henry is expected to be out for a while after suffering a lower body injury against UNC.
South Carolina and Georgia are set for a 3:30 kickoff this Saturday in Athens with CBS carrying the action.
